We’re belting out our best rendition of Genie in a Bottle in honor of today’s toolbox selection, ThingLink.
ThingLink turns any image into an interactive graphic, featuring audio clips, videos, text, images and online shops using a free tagging tool. We think of ThingLink as a photo on steroids, providing multiple touch points for brand engagement. Take a look at what we Thinglinked for the Florida Resource Center for Women and Children (FRCWC), a nonprofit organization which assists, educates and empowers individuals, families and communities to live safe from abuse and violence. We turned a photo from the organization’s children’s quilt project into a supercharged story of who they are and what they do (click on the photo to view it ThingLinked).
According to Mashable, one of the leading online resources for digital news, interactive image services like ThingLink give users a standalone communication platform within other platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. With ThingLink, you can publish expanded posts and tweets which allow fans and followers to engage with you and your content without ever leaving the host platform. Another online news source, VentureBeat, reports that brands using ThingLink on Twitter drove 100 percent more engagement on the 140 character platform.
